Leaderflush Shapland has a wealth of knowledge and
experience within the education sector, successfully completing
over 1,500 education projects in the last three years.
The co-located Newfield and Talbot schools in Sheffield, part of
the Sheffield Building Schools for Future (BSF) programme, has
been a catalyst project for Leaderflush Shapland, leading to the
successful development of our innovative product solutions; EnduraCor, Sentinel and Envision.
Newfield is an 11-16 comprehensive school built to accommodate
1,050 pupils and Talbot is a specialist school for young people
with complex learning difficulties. The £33 million
project incorporates many high-tech features and different
subject areas have been defined by the use of colour-coding and
an innovative way finding system.

Range doorsets were specified all incorporating EnduraCor - the durable
Leaderflush Shapland performance core, specifically designed to
meet the rigours of harsh educational environments. A recent
independent test proves EnduraCor
to be 100 times more durable than multi-layered chipboard cores.
This highly cost-effective solution could significantly reduce
‘whole life’ repair and maintenance costs over the
lifetime of the doorset.
Leaderflush Shapland worked together with the design teams and
with the Formica® Bespoke Service Department, who supplied
the unique graphic and solid colour, high pressure laminate
facings which were matched to BS and RAL colours used in the
surrounding décor.
To divide the two schools, students from both Newfield and
Talbot submitted designs for the double door for which
Leaderflush Shapland developed Envision
- the exclusive new facing option which allows photographic
images and graphics to be back-printed on a 2mm translucent
facing which protects the designs against wear.
The Envision doorset also
incorporates Sentinel,

protection solution, designed as a direct result of our wealth
of knowledge and experience in the education sector. Sentinel allows specifiers to
achieve outstanding performance without compromising design or
architectural integrity.
Leaderflush Shapland is uniquely able to create spaces which
