Why is Hygienilac different to other anti-bacterial finishes?
Hygienilac works by preventing the bacteria’s access to nutrients so their growth is inhibited and they will starve and die. It has a kill rate of 99.9 per cent over a 24-hour period and remains effective for years because of its inherently low water solubility. It does not employ silver technology and is completely UV stable. It is non-carcinogenic, non-mutagenic and non-skin sensitising.
Hygienilac has passed British Standard 6250 tests for severe usage and its active ingredient has approvals from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Health and Safety Executive (HSE) - for indirect or incidental food contact - and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). It has also been given a Point 3 endorsement by the NHS Infection Control Rapid Review Panel (Surface Coating Category).
Hygienilac has been tested and independently verified by laboratories which endorse the 99.9% kill rate of the bacteria listed. Evidence is available on request.
