Plasform frames and architraves
Within the Plasform range four popular frame sections are
available with radiused edges in a wide choice of finishes,
although special sections can also be provided. Sections
are produced to suit common standard partition widths
of 100, 113, 126 and 144mm, although other widths can
be accommodated. Plasform Mono, Cubith and Barum
sections are available in either MDF or hardwood to suit
particular requirements. These frames can be wrapped in
various materials for a maintenance-free, easily cleaned
surface that matches the overall appearance of the doorset.
Alternatively frames can be supplied primed for paint or fully
polished.
Double action frames use the Barum lining only. Detailed dimensions
of frame sections and finishes can be found in our 'Specifying
with Doors and Doorsets' brochure.
Pre-prepared holes are incorporated for site fixing, concealed
by flush, PVC/laminate discs to match the frame finish.
Plasform Mono
One piece section incorporating a unique internal rebate which
eliminates dirt traps. Single sections can be produced up
to 200mm wide with extension pieces for wider partitions.
Mono is often supplied for exact opening sizes allowing joints
to be sealed with a silicon bead on-site for a flush, architrave-free
finish. Optional MDF or hardwood architraves, finished or
wrapped as stated previously, can be secret fixed using a
tongue and groove system. A PVC foot pad is provided at the
base of Plasform WR frames. |

Seals
Intumescent fire seals are an integral part of the Plasform
design. Additional seals can be added to meet smoke,
sound reduction and air leakage requirements specified.
Air-leakage test results to BS 476 : 31 : 1 under various pressure
differentials are available for air balancing calculations. For
fire rated doors, intumescent seals (tested to BS 476 Part 22)
are fitted to the postformed edge and door head. Meeting
stiles on door pairs have bladed seals to stop light, as shown
below. It is also possible to factory-fit recessed drop seals to
meet sound reduction and air control criteria.

Plasform Pivette
The Pivette range is based on a unique design of two-leaf
articulated door, developed to minimise door swing area
whilst maximising clear opening width. Doors are easy to
operate manually, needing only light pressure to move aside
and well out of the way. Complete, factory-finished, prehung
doorsets are supplied as standard including frames,
track and suspension systems, for straightforward installation
and reliable operation.
Pivette doorsets are particularly suited to healthcare and
other buildings where space is at a premium or accessibility
important. Pivette offers cost-effective solutions to a wide
range of design problems presented by Part M of the Building
Regulations, BS 8300:2001 and The Disability Discrimination
Act. Taken in total, these can apply to existing properties as
well as new buildings.
