Environmental policy

Leaderflush Shapland is the UK’s market leader in performance doors and doorsets supplying around 2,400 every week from four manufacturing sites employing some 700 people. So, we are particularly aware of the environmental impact that our operations may have – as well as the real benefits that our products offer during use within buildings.

In order to monitor and develop our environmental performance, we have developed an Environmental Management System in accordance with BS EN ISO 14001: 2004,
based on a firm Environmental Policy.

The Leaderflush Shapland Environmental Policy demonstrates strong commitment to continuous improvement in areas such as:

  • Prevention of pollution and contamination
  • Reduction of waste
  • Management of water and energy use
  • Reduction in emissions to the atmosphere
  • Responsible interaction with local communities

Central to this policy are communication and visibility: Independent accreditation is also important and we are registered by the British Standards Institution for the operation of our Environmental Management System at each of our manufacturing sites.

At Leaderflush Shapland, we always welcome dialogue on these important issues to ensure that the requirements of specifiers and their clients are fully met. Environmental Statements and other information can be obtained by contacting us on:

By specifying products from Leaderflush Shapland, you can be sure of working with a company that demonstrates a clear commitment to continually improving environmental performance.

In particular:

  • We meet and, where practical, exceed all legislative, regulatory and other requirements, which apply to our business and our Environmental aspects.
  • We work with our timber suppliers to meet the requirements of FSC controlled wood standard.
  • We promote an optimum and efficient use of resources and energy.
  • We are working to find better ways of reducing waste, while improving the recycling and reuse of waste that we generate.
  • We are committed to the prevention of pollution in all forms and are reducing air pollution, particularly from our boiler plants. We ensure that effluent discharges are minimised and the possibilities of accidental water pollution are eliminated.
  • We aim to continually improve the environmental performance of the company by setting clear objectives, targets and supporting programmes.
  • We are raising awareness and understanding of the company's environmental policy and its implications to all persons who work for and on behalf of the company.
  • We encourage an open and ongoing dialogue with those individuals or organisations that have a bona fide interest in the company’s activities and shall make available information on our environmental performance on a
    regular basis.
